Yoga of Naptime (Yoga Nidra) Workshop

Yoga of Naptime Description:

· Is your mom creative, sensitive and soulful?

· Does she sometimes forget to take care of herself?

· Does she always tell *you* how important it is to get good rest?

Be a Mother’s Day Hero………

and buy your mom a nap!

Smart mamas will not wait for someone to else to do it for them and they’ll buy a nap for their own dang selves! : )

This is a wonderful workshop for sensitive and soulful moms or caregivers (parents, teachers, grandparents, healthcare workers, etc), who are looking for an effortless way to add restorative practices to their own self-care routine.

It’s especially perfect for people who’ve yet to master the fine art of relaxation – but who aren’t ready to give up trying!

During the Workshop you and/or your “mom” will:

· Flow through a gentle, meditative sequence

· Experience the art of Transformational Sleep

· Enjoy a tasty dessert that supports relaxation and sleep

· Discover how conscious sleep effortlessly generates more calm, more connection, and better health for the whole family

More about Yoga Nidra (Psychic Sleep)

Yoga Nidra has been described as the yoga of non-doing or the yoga of stillness. After 15-20 minutes of gentle physical postures, we just--- lie--- down and stop doing. Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?! That’s because it IS! During an extended savasana, we’ll use a series of breath, body and awareness techniques to guide the brainwaves down towards sleep states, where we naturally begin to find distance from our thoughts.

If you have trouble enjoying a seated meditation, you might just love this. You can’t do it wrong, and most participants experience a deep sense of relaxation.

Yoga Nidra feels so good because it IS so good for you. It lowers cortisol, while increasing GABA, serotonin, dopamine and melatonin, and mitigates the chronic effects of stress on the nervous system.

It is deeply restorative and has been said that 40 minutes of the practice is as restorative as 3 hours of sleep.

About Asha:

Throughout her career, Asha has supported people of all ages in hospital, museum and school settings.

She currently teaches yoga at Ceremony and at the Denver School of Science and Technology and sees the role of teaching as an opportunity to deepen her own experience of yoga.

Asha studied yoga in Florida, Colorado and India (That’s right folks, India. So you know she’s gonna be a legit teacher). She’s also a Reiki Master and a jokemonger.

As much as she loves working with younger audiences, now that she is a mama, she realizes the power of women’s circles and nurturing the nurturer. Asha practices conscious sleep daily, and when in the waking state, she enjoys art, spending time outdoors and making people laugh!
