Headstand, in sanskrit, sirsasana, is nicknamed the king of all asana for good reason. Practicing the posture daily has profound effects on the mind body and heart.
Standing on your head, doesn’t just look fun, it’s good for you.

In this workshop you will learn what it takes to safely get into and stay in headstand.
We will work on coming up in to the shape from a variety of positions as well as staying in the shape for longer periods of time. We will look into advanced variations of the posture and how to change in between Sirasana ABC.
If you have a very comfortable headstand practice you will learn what it takes to make it a lifelong practice and have plenty of variations to challenge you.
If you can’t get on your head yet, you will learn how.
60 min full sweaty, fun and well aligned flow (using lots of props for clarity).
45 min demonstration, explanation, partnering
45 open classroom – practice, play and questions.
30 min yummy cool down

Contraindications: if you have any cervical spine injuries this may not be the best workshop for you. I do have variations for you, so feel free to set up a private lesson. If you are on your moon cycle catch me at the next workshop.

About our Teacher: Alyona Mindlin is an international yoga teacher with 25 years of movement background. She teaches creative alignment based flow that inspires awareness, precision and connection to the heart. She studies indigenous traditions with Maestro Manuel and yoga with Nikki Costello. Kula Yoga Project and the Golden Drum are her yoga homes in NYC where she practices, teaches and sees private clients. Alyona leads workshops, yoga teacher trainings and shamanic thai massage trainings. Her classes will inspire joy, peaceful stillness, and a deeper appreciation for life.
Alyona has taught for 9 years predominatly in NYC. She has traveled to teach worldwide and has lived in Tulum, Mexico and Maui Hawaii.
